There's a party going on in the Bahamas! It lasts for two weeks and attracts hundreds of cruisers from around the world. It's the Annual George Town Regatta, and if you find yourself in the Bahamas during February/March, this is not to be missed! Not only do you get to spend time in the beautiful Bahamas, but you're treated to some free food, free booze and lots of fun activities including a kick-off party, poker run, dinghy races, sporting events and seminars.
George Town is located on the island of Great Exuma and is often referred to as "Chicken Harbour", because so many cruisers that visit the town while traveling South never go any further. With daily yoga lessons, volleyball, free water, stocked grocery store and other amenities I can see why people choose to stay a while!
